A special committee meets on 19 September to discuss whether or not to suspend the chief executive of Pembrokeshire CC following a vote of no confidence. The meeting of the disciplinary investigation committee is the latest chapter in the saga over unlawful payments to senior officers at the local authority. Chief executive Bryn Parry-Jones stepped down last month following a dispute over cash he received in lieu of pension contributions. In August it was announced that Mr Parry-Jones was to take a period of absence on full pay, but it was revealed last week that the chief executive was back on duty, and working from home. On 12 September, a motion of no confidence was carried, with 46 councillors voting in favour, three against and three abstaining.
