Surrey CC and Croydon LBC have asked the Government for £1m to fund a joint flood action plan. The two councils want to build four reservoirs near the Surrey border with the London borough to replace the temporary reservoirs, which were built last month to deal with the heavy rainfall. 'We are working to keep Surrey residents safe and hope the Government will fund our long-term plan with Croydon to build on the success of our temporary reservoirs,' said cabinet member for highways and the environment, Cllr John Furey.
