Having spent an energising 24 hours listening and engaging with some of the key leaders across our northern-based local authorities, it is clear there is a paradigm shift underway regarding how public services move forward from this point on. There is an emergent consensus that public services of the future will require more relational approaches, and that was very evident here. One by one, key architects of the respective devolution models took their place to deliver similar messages. 1 consistently heard the importance of context, complexity and connectedness, coming through as crucial components of the futures they are helping to create.
