摘要

Strict requirements of QS-9000, the new interface of quality between customer and supplier in automotive industry, still meets a lot of misunderstanding and apprehension in many cold forging companies. The main objective of the paper is to show that QS-9000 requirements, due to the demand for transparent processes, howver create new opportunities for improved process understanding and quality control in particular for complex net shape cold forging processes. The paper takes a look at the development process of net shape cold forging components with respect to QS-9000 requirements. Also some examples of different quality engineering tools of QS-9000 considering in particular the effect of QS-9000 tools on process capability and quality improvement in industrial mass production are given, looking at practical applications at Krupp Presta.
