£2.5m bad weather fundingWelsh councils will receive £2.5m funding to offset costs incurred in dealing with the recent severe weather.The Welsh Government said that while local authorities were responsible for planning for significant weather events and were expected to budget accordingly, it was providing extra cash 'in recognition of the significant costs incurred'.Welsh Local Government Association spokesman, Cllr Andrew Morgan, said: 'Although all councils will have planned for such an event, the intensity of the weather meant that additional costs were unavoidable.'
