I never thought 1 would ever be part of growth in a public sector organisation, having been reducing them almost since I started work 1,000 years ago. But here at Homes England, we are almost doubling in size with the recruitment of near on 700 new roles in a year. We need a significant increase in capacity and capability as we become a digital organisation which seeks to disrupt the housing market and create supportive solutions to deliver housing. This rapid ramp-up comes with some sizable problems. The first is the sheer logistics of developing that many new job descriptions, getting job evaluations, developing an employee brand, advertising and creating a conveyor belt of interviews while continuing with the day job.
