Time and the IS Discipline

In the grand scheme of things, Information Systems as a discipline hasn't been around very long. As shown in the timeline below, it is a relatively new discipline, especially when you consider that mathematics has been around for close to five millennia. As a matter of fact, man hasn't been on this earth all that long. If you were to map the entire history of the earth to a 12 hour period (as in the Clock of Eras), humans would not appear until the last 7 seconds. Given this framing, can we expect our discipline to have converged to a single paradigm?
