On a cold, windy and wet January morning, a determined and excited bunch of Mini owners gathered ready for the off. Foul weather didn't dampen spirits as the first Wirral Minis' marshal's car pulled away to smiles and honking horns. Despite heavy spray and reduced visibility, all Minis arrived safely at the first destination: a rest-stop at Rhos-on-Sea, where everyone stretched their legs and grabbed a hot drink. The next leg took the convoy through the dramatic scenery of the Great Orme. Each Mini made the most of the hairpin bends on the ascent to the 207-metre summit. On a clear day, from here you can see Snowdonia, Anglesey, the Isle of Man, Blackpool and Cumbria - but sadly not on this occasion, though the view of the Minis parked together at the summit certainly made up for it.
