At first glance you may think you have seen Trevor's Tartan Red Austin Seven before, but this is a different one. We featured his UMW 777 in MiniWorld's April 2008 issue as Lucky 7. Coincidentally, this car has a single '7' in its registration number. Another coincidence is that it was made just one day after UMW, on 17th July 1959 - their chassis numbers are just 40 cars apart. Longbridge was producing around 40 Minis a day at that time, so they could have been on the line at the same time. The numbering is not such a coincidence when you remember that dealers had more choice with registration numbers back then, so 7's were a logical choice for the new Austin Seven.rnTrevor explains: "It went to Marshalls of Cambridge on 27 July. This car was actually registered and taxed on 31 July before the official Mini launch, so I thought it must have been used as a demonstrator because of the number plate and early taxation. I wrote to Marshalls several times but got nowhere - it's a huge company.
