I am gathering together my tatty old Michelin maps before embarking on the 13th annual Automobile Club de Monaco Monte Carlo Historic Rally, in which we have competed for ten consecutive years. By the time you read this, we'll be back in the UK again. Our unofficial historic rally team consists of Mini Cooper Register's Peter Barker at the helm of his Cooper S, former BMC co-driver Willy Cave and Rover Cooper insider Al Vines as service chief. We've had some modest success and, as ever, we're praying for snow. Snow means that powerful opponents lose their bhp advantage. The smallest cc class is 1300 so Mini is one of the least powerful cars out there, as usual. We'll be running a full review of all the Mini results at the 2010 Monte in a later issue.
