A RARE TREAT

I've been visiting the Isle of Man for a few years now, for their fantastic Manx Mini Meets, and each year I have drooled over this Mini. As - a long-time lover of Woody-estates (I had one myself back in the 70s) and as someone who has grown to love all the unusual features found in really early Minis, this Woody was right at the top of my wish list when we were choosing Minis to feature during our recent visit to the Isle of Man. This Countryman belongs to Haydn Minay who owns a garage on the Island. He is now retired and his sons run the family business. As with most of the Mini enthusiasts there, Minis are very much 'in the blood'. Haydn himself rallied Minis in the 1960s and Minis are still in evidence around the garage. We even spotted an Innocenti Mini in the yard, awaiting restoration. Haydn's son Nigel was one of the rally drivers giving high speed passenger rides during the track session of the 2014 Manx Mini Meet.
