Mk1 Cooper Ss are the must-have car for a Mini collector and they therefore command high prices but the Mk3 Cooper S, was the most limited run of UK Coopers and barely differentiates itself from the mainstream round-nose MK3 Leyland Mini saloon. With production lasting just over a year, UK production of MK3 S is estimated to have been just 1,570 cars (Original Mini Cooper and Cooper 5 by John Parnell). Half of those were built for the export market so they are a bit thin on the ground.
