It has taken a long time for the UK Mini Clubman to gain such recognition, possibly due to the greater popularity of the classic Mk1 and Mk2 saloons and being overshadowed by the more glamorous 1275GT. The early square-nose saloons, with their drum brakes and wheezy 38-39bhp 998cc A-series engines, are now on a par with the entry-level Mk3 Mini 850 and 1000 in terms of collectability.
