Minis on the Rec'

At long last: summer finally came to Southern England so we decided to give our Mini a run down to Brighton Mini Club's Minis on the Rec' at the Adur Recreation Ground in Shoreham, West Sussex. It's a free annual classic and modified car event which raises funds for Chestnut Tree House hospice. The show attracted around 30 Minis, one of which was a pink 1960 Austin Seven which has been in the same family for over 50 years. The event also drew a variety of other cars including a gorgeous pair of Jaguars, a rare Austin A40 Sports and a delightful 1934 Standard 10, all of which added interest to the day. I was particularly taken with a gorgeous Vanden Plas 1100, representing the most luxurious of Issigonis' super-mini range.
