Mini will help learner drivers

The Multiple Intelligence Hub (MIH) is a community interest company in Kent that was set up in March 2019. It provides alternative learning experiences and well-being interventions for children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities and a Mini is set to help them to learn to drive. Project Manager, Donna McLean said: "We offer an alternative approach to learning, helping in the progress of the young person's social development and life skills. Our well-being programmes are designed to be low-key and non-pressurised, whilst still educational. They are designed with a bespoke approach and a flexible outlook to each young person's individual needs." MIH offers a variety of learning experiences including gardening, horticulture, assisted animal activities, woodcraft and many more. "We are now working towards offering a unique experience and have come together with another community organisation, The Community Driving School, to form a unique Young Drivers Programme," explained Donna. "This programme will be designed to give young people the opportunity to learn with a combination of experienced SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) staff and qualified driving tutors, offering a bespoke driving programme for all, to include theory guidance and introduction to the Highway Code with a combined kinetic, visual and auditory approach. As well as access to a self-designed driving simulator."
