I'm 16 years old and live in Birmingham. I have an automatic 1990 Mini 1000: a Racing Green limited edition. My mom and dad bought it for me last autumn, as a winter project, so it could be ready for when I learn to drive. It has been dry-stored since 2004 and was completely original in every way. It still has all its original panels and has never had any welding. The only attention it requires is to the doors. With the help of my dad I have been doing all the usual stuff to return it to the road: changing all fluids and the perished tyres and making sure everything is in good order. Most of the rubber suspension bushes have been changed as they were also perished. I do all of the mechanical work myself with the supervision of my dad. We have installed a rear rollcage and some chrome extras to make it personal to me. I have joined the British Mini Club and we attend as many shows as possible. I love my Mini and look forward to many years of enjoyment with it.
