In May Bateman signed an organisation-to-organisation (O-to-O) agreement with De Beers Consolidated Mines (DBCM) that is to stand for a minimum of ten years. The aim is that this long-term partnership will improve the synergy and teamwork on projects between client and contractor. James Nieuwenhuys, general manager diamonds, claims it will also smooth out the peaks and troughs of project loading, allowing Bateman to deliver better services.
