Recent renovations and the delays that accompanied these upgrades, combined with subfreezing temperatures that crippled equipment, had made the New Jersey terminal the bane of truckers and shippers alike. LaMura, however, gained the respect of his audience and dissipated the animosity, by addressing the problem in early February head-on. "We had the meltdown of meltdowns and pretty much brought the industry to its knees," LaMura told the recyclers. "We are working hard at remedying these problems," LaMura added. "Our management team is working 18 hours a day, pressing our labor and equipment resources."
