U.S. Containerboard Production Down For April, Reports AF&PA

Total containerboard paper production decreased 15.7 percent in April compared with April 2008 figures, according to the American Forest & Paper Association's April 2009 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report.Total container-board paper production was down 1.0 percent when compared with March 2009 figures. Linerboard production was down from last April. Liner-board production fell 17.0 percent when compared with April 2008 totals. Linerboard's production was flat when compared with March 2009 figures.Medium production fell slightly over last month. Medium production fell 1.5 percent when compared with March 2009 figures, and decreased by 12.2 percent over April 2008 totals.
