Demand for Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) remains stable in many areas across the country, report RM sources. "Decent demand with seasonal generation down. No port strike helps with keeping export going. DLK is in short supply and prices are moving up. SOP in the Southeast is strong," said one scrap recycler based in the Southeast.Another recycler confirmed that DLK is in hot demand. "Currently DLK is the hot grade. I believe it is because it is cleaner with greater fiber recovery rates than OCC giving a much better bang for the buck' the mills are paying," said a recycler based in the Midwest.
