Many mills are starting to become more diligent about which type of Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) they use, such as MRF OCC, grocery OCC, and post-industrial OCC, said Myles Cohen of Pratt Recycling, who moderated a session on "Re-Defining the PSI Definition and Specification of OCC" at the 2014 Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference held in Chicago earlier this month. Many suggest it is now time to have several (or at least 2 or 3) official PSI grades for OCC, each with an explicit definition, he added.
