Rumpke Invests $2.5 Million In Dayton Recycling Plant

Construction is underway at Rumpke Recycling, where the family-owned company is spending $2.5 million to upgrade the facility. Rumpke will install a new sortation system from Machinex that will replace aging equipment to improve the plant's efficiency. Machines will sort glass (Machinex Glass Breaker Screen double Deck) and Old Corrugated Containers (OCC Screen double deck) from more than 500 tons of recycling brought into the plant daily. OCC will be baled and shipped to manufacturers while glass will be further processed on site. Other recyclables-metals, paper and plastic-will be sent to the company's new Cincinnati plant for further sorting and processing.
