Demand for Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) is starting to soften, due to higher generation and mills reporting larger inventories of the grade, report RM sources. "Generation is up and the weather is better. Domestic mills are seeing higher inventories of OCC," said one scrap recycler based on the East Coast. Trucking shortage seems to be an issue with recyclers. "Weather was tough on deliveries during the long winter, but the trucking shortage is a nightmare in our industry as well as many others. Not enough drivers to even begin to cover loads," said a scrap recycler based in the Southeast.
