Long Clawson Acquires Harrington Creamery

Farmer co-operative Long Clawson Dairy Limited ('Clawson') has today announced the acquisition of Dairy Crest's Stilton and speciality cheese business, including its Hartington creamery. The co-operative, which has only 43 supplying farmer members and is based near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, produces an award-winning range of cheese including Stilton. Commenting on the announcement, Clawson Chief Executive, Martin Taylor, said: "This is a significant step for our small co-operative. It expands our business and will allow us to improve our operational efficiency, securing the long-term viability of Clawson and of Stilton manufacturing."
