£8m to back vision for North East food and drink sector

Food and drink producers in the north-east are set to benefit from the creation of a new industry body tasked with boosting the sector's economic growth in the region. The North East England Food and Drink Group will be led by Northumbria Larder, the regional food group, in partnership with Improve, the food and drink sector skills council, and North East Chamber of Commerce. It will provide support to businesses, raise awareness of the region's food and drink sector, and work to increase availability of regional produce.
