An ￡800,000 investment into the expansion of its visitor centre has earned the Wensleydale Creamery special praise from the country's Foreign Secretary. In celebration of its expansion, The Creamery held a briefing especially for the Rt Hon William Hague, giving him a guided tour of the centre, which is now officially open for business. A new gift shop, which is three times the size of the old one and stocks more than 500 new lines from over 20 new suppliers, is a crucial part of the expansion. Praising the investment made by The Creamery, Mr Hague said he was particularly impressed with the significant contribution it makes to the rural economy by employing 220 people and supporting local suppliers.
