Plan for 8000-cow super farm faces mounting opposition

Lincolnshire farming company Nocton Dairies Ltd has submitted a planning application for what will be the UK's largest dairy farm.rnA planned investment of ￡40 million would see more than 8,000 cows producing up to 250,000 litres of milk per day for the East Midlands.rnNocton says the new unit, to be built on Nocton and Dunston Heath, south of Lincoln, will make a multi-million pound contribution to the local economy and be an important pointer to the future development of the UK dairy sector.
