Lye Cross Farm is the brand of West Country cheesemakers, the Alvis family. The family has been farming land at the foot of Somerset's Mendip Hills, a few miles from the village of Cheddar, for the last 400 years and been making cheese there since 1952. Managing Director Peter Alvis is the third generation of farmers and master cheesemakers.
