"Savage Will" is written about history, but it reads like an adventure. It can be a challenge for an author to take something that needs to be historically accurate and find a way to keep readers wanting to turn pages. Timothy M. Gay does that. I found this one to be a page-turner.I know there are times we forget about the sacrifices of all elements in a war. The medical element is so important and even with extra protections afforded them, it does not stop them from facing dangerous situations. This situation is full of danger from the Germans and the elements! A plane full of U.S. medical personnel, female nurses and male medics, gets lost in a storm due to malfunctioning instrumen-tation (and other issues) and crash lands in Albania, a country not at the forefront of the battles in World War Ⅱ, but an important connecting country nonetheless. However, the U.S. did not have a presence in that country. The crew and passengers landed not knowing whom they could trust and faced very rough circumstances.
