Many historians have confused the Bataan Death March to include the Americans who surrendered at Corregi-dor. To make matters worse, even Congress, in 1982, when honoring the men of Bataan and Corregidor, was unaware that Corregidor had not surrendered until 6 May 1942 while Bataan had surrendered earlier, on 9 April.
