Are Collaborative, Regional Special Forces Commands the Way Forward?

Relatively small in size compared to larger conventional forces, SOF have always been at the forefront of efforts to optimise force multiplying effects across areas of military operations. Today, an extremely busy operating environment is stretching the international SOF community to the limit, in order to counter Violent Extremist Organisations at home and abroad, as well as contingency planning aimed at handling near-peer and high-capability adversaries, including Russia.
