During US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's recent visit to India, both countries agreed to the much talked about End User Monitoring Agreement (EUMA). The agreement, it is understood, will be treated as an umbrella pact and applicable to all current and future military equipment supplies from the US. While some form of EUMA has been applicable to American supplies to India in the past on a case-by-case basis, for example in the purchase of ex-USS TRENTON LPD or weapons locating radar, its total application has finally been agreed upon after two years ofrnprotracted negotiations.
