When it comes to providing electrical power in the field, soldiers often face major challenges. They usually have to carry up to 30 lbs worth of batteries on top of the weight of their electrical devices to operate them. This is necessary as devices require different kinds of batteries and mostly cannot all be operated from one battery type. Replacement batteries have to be carried along, especially if soldiers have to move in terrain where there is no available power source.
