USMC Combat Identification

摘要

Even though it has a claim to the title of most complete military service in the world, the USMC increasingly operates as part of joint or coalition forces, which is unlikely to change as its focus shifts towards the Pacific. It is in this context that the Corps is cooperating with the US Army in the Joint Cooperative Target Identification - Ground (JCTI-G) programme, an on-going effort that has recently been focused on reducing fratricide among dismounts and from air-to-ground fires. It is also in this spirit that it participates in the multi-national, NATO-sponsored Bold Quest series of war fighting experiments that enable testing of new Combat ID (CID) approaches.
