Italian Defence Procurement at the Crossroads

In February this year, the Italian Defence Minister, Adm. (Ret.) Giampaolo di Paola unveiled the main guidelines of a wide-scope reform process of the Italian Armed Forces. When (or perhaps "if") implemented fully, this process will lead to sweeping changes in the Armed Forces' size, organisation, equipment, and procurement structures - referred to as the "New Defence Model".
