Naval Stealth Technology and Signature Management

Key developments observed in the design of surface and underwater combatants include stealth. Naval fleets around the globe have eyed the acquisition of new-generation surface warships possessing stealth technologies. Stealth warships are being designed with cutting-edge technologies involving significantly reduced signatures across the electromagnetic spectrum, advanced sensors and weapons, silent propulsion systems, and secure communications systems. A significant trend is the combination of the array of signature reduction efforts to allow a surface warship to act with greater freedom than a conventional or semi-stealth adversary.
