Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Clearance and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)

Unexploded ordnance (UXO) in the form of legacy munitions and minefields have to be cleared for troop movement and safety and to enable civilians to reoccupy highly dangerous areas. The MINEWOLF (MW370) platform with its combination of flail and tiller has been deployed in Iraq to clear oilfields littered with mines (mainly Valmara and VS50) from the 1980a Iran/Iraq war. Clearing the Iraqi Majnoon oilfield is in two stages: the ground is first prepared by heavily armoured bulldozers which create 6m-wide lanes (excavating the first 40cm). The Mini-MINEWOLF has also been transported 450km between minefield sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Micro-MINEWOLF (MW50) launched at IDEX 2013 is an armoured, remote controlled platform purpose-built for landmine, IED and route clearance in ultra-rugged, hard-to-access environments.
