The variety of models currently under consideration for competing tenders demonstrates a disparate set of requirements for future vehicle designs in key areas such as mobility and protection. Defence materiel organisations' efforts towards standardisation are beset by the growing number of recent ground-breaking technologies available for consideration. Due to space-constraints, this article only touches upon the trucks-with-armoured-cabins-market (with companies such as Mercedes Benz, Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV), Navistar, Oshkosh Defence, Tatra, Tata, and many more); and the civil armoured vehicle/armoured cars market (conversions of Toyota Land Cruiser, Mercedes-Benz G and Lexus, by companies such Stoof International, Alpha Armouring Panzerung, Farmingtons Automotive, PAK Armouring and many more).
