Less than a year after signing its first deal with the Indian Air Force (IAF), Dassault Aviation is pitching for a contract to supply the Indian Navy (IN) with 57 multi-role fighters. With an order for 36 RAFALE aircraft already in the bag, Dassault Aviation has set its sights on supplying India with a whole lot more over the next decade. During Aero India 2017, Dassault's CEO Eric Trappier told journalists: "We would like to continue beyond the 36 aircraft order to meet the projected needs of the air force and navy for 200 jets." He also added that an order for 200 aircraft, "would be ideal for technology transfer."
