An officer and his assistant are grateful to be offered a hot, delicious meal after missing dinner - but are suprised to learn what they have been served.rnIn the early 1960s during the Vietnam War, my division in the Indiana National Guard, the 38th, was training for mobilization as a part of the Selected Reserve Force. I was the S3 (plans, operations, and training) officer of the division's only armored battalion. We were tasked to help train the infantry companies by acting as "umpires" in training tests and to assist the battalions in daily training.
