Rick Hoyt has taken part in 996 footraces in the past 30 years, including 26 Boston Marathons and 229 triathlons. What's unusual is that Rick can neither walk nor speak, the result of cerebral palsy. He accomplished those remarkable feats with the help of his father, Lt. Col. Dick Hoyt, ANG-Ret. Together, they are Team Hoyt. How did you get involved in this? When Rick was in high school, he had a friend who was paralyzed in an automobile accident.
