For the centenary of the Great War it may be interesting to compare individual weapons that equipped the troops of the Kingdom of Italy and of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This is not just a list of technical data because, through it, it is possible to highlight the personality of the inventors of those weapons as well as the technological capabilities and operational needs of the time.%Acento anni dall'inizio della Grande Guerra è interessante mettere a confronto le armi individuali che equipaggiavano le truppe di due Paesi belligeranti: Regno d'Italia e Impero austro-ungarico. Tale esercizio non vuole essere una mera elencazione di dati tecnici ma un modo per accostare la personalità degli inventori, le capacità tecnologiche e le esigenze operative del momento.
