DCNS SET FOR RUSSIAN MISTRAL MILESTONE

French shipbuilder DCNS expects the first hull block for the Mistral-class amphibious support ships which it is building for the Russian Navy to be completed this September. The blocks will be delivered to the Chantiers de I'Atlantique shipyard in St Nazaire on France's Atlantic coast, which is owned by South Korean shipbuilder STX Europe. DCNS is in charge of construction of the vessels, three of which also serve with the French Navy, with STX Europe playing an important role in their construction, notably building the forward half of each ship.
