Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) is to supply the Danish armed forces with 14 heavy protected recovery vehicles under a deal announced on 26 February. Weighing some 36t, the Heavy Tactical Recovery Vehicle (HTRV) is based on the RMMV S×45 8×8 chassis that, according to the company, combines extreme stability, safety and crew comfort with high levels of manoeuvrability, whether on or off road. The vehicles have Level 3/3 ballistic and anti-mine protection, keeping the crew safe from small arms fire and IED blasts.
