Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan's military comprises approximately 10,900 troops spread across two military branches: Army (8,500), and Air Force and related air defense forces (2,400). In addition to active military forces, Kyrgyzstan retains a paramilitary force of 5,000 troops. Prior to November 2009, the paramilitary was divided between National Guard and border guard units.
