摘要

In this paper, we develop a new semi parametric model, bivariate proportional mean residual lifetime model, to assess the relationship between mean residual life and covariates for gap time distributions of recurrent events. The model is an extension of the mean residual lifetime model developed by Chen and Cheng (2005) for univariate survival data. Estimation of the regression parameters of the model is discussed. Asymptotic properties of the estimates are studied. We carry out a simulation study to assess the finite sample properties of the estimates. Finally, the new model is applied to the kidney dialysis data given in Lawless (2003).
