IN MEMORIAM: PIERANGELO GAREGNANI

Pierangelo Garegnani passed away on Saturday 15 October 2011 at the age of 81 years. This obituary aims to remember him as a great economist who dedicated his life to the development of a fundamental theoretical shift in the dominant political economy. I shall try to isolate the acknowledgement of his scientific merits, but it will be unavoidable for me to trespass on some personal reminiscences.
