Cegelec Projects Ltd has complet-ed a modernisation project at the British Steel Port Talbot Steel Works cold mill in South Wales. The project was to replace the original control system for the furnaces used in the annealing process, replacing the old motor switchgear with variable speed drives. The results ar.e reduced energy and maintenance costs in addition to improved diagnostics and control.
