Demand for new, more efficient coating processes is increasing due to economic pressures; new, strict environmental regulations limiting volatile organic compounds (VOCs); an increased emphasis on improving quality and productivity; and concerns about energy costs. Coatings manufacturers are investing significant resources in research and development to create new, more efficient coating processes. The patented vapor-injection-cure process is one answer to these needs because it allows very rapid cure of high-performance, low-VOC coatings to take place by using an air-dry or a low-temperature cure.
