Charles Halle, former director of IBM, has been appointed chairman of surface treatment technology for Keronite PLC of Cambridge, U.K. Halle studied mathematics and computer science at Sheffield before launching his career with IBM in the U.K., where he remained for 23 years. In 1998, building on his success in the world of high-tech industry, Halle went on to take up the position of CEO with Vocalis Group PLC, a company specializing in speech recognition technology. More recently, Halle pursued a portfolio career of non-executive positions in the technology sector.
